DEAFVILLE Week LIVE @ Just Deaf. Just Dope.
Wow, what a WEEK and a privilege it was to host DEAFVILLE Week LIVE!
In case you haven’t heard, DEAFVILLE is an annual event that takes place in Washington, DC celebrating Deaf performers and DJs. This year is particularly special – it marks the 10th anniversary of DEAFVILLE!
To kick off this huge milestone, we hosted three days of Instagram LIVE sessions with some of the incredible performers who will be taking the stage on Friday, October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th. We even had the chance to chat with DEAFVILLE's creator, Aarron Loggins!
Our journey started with a bit of a "sketchy" Tuesday night. I was wrestling with some frustrating technical difficulties – IG LIVE kept shutting down on me! Just when I was about to give up, Aaron swooped in to save the day, hosting the chat from his own account with DJ Deaf Tunez, Sho Roc, and Coda Trevor. Okay, teamwork!
The excitement continued on Wednesday with DefStar, Orl B Tha Coda, and DJ Hear No Evil. We dove deep into their personal journeys, exploring how they got their start as artists and what inspires them to create. And let me tell you, their stories were DEEP.
We wrapped up on Thursday night with a bang, chatting with DEAFVILLE's MC, Mervin Bryant, DJ Nicar, and of course, the visionary behind it all, Aarron Loggins. They shared some exciting insights into the future of DEAFVILLE and their dreams for Deaf creatives.
All three nights were an absolute blast! Each performer brought their unique personality and humor to the conversation, sharing hilarious memories, inspiring visions for the future, and heartfelt reflections on their experiences with Aaron and DEAFVILLE.
And guess what? Even though this is the 10th year, it’s just the beginning! Aarron has BIG plans to grow the DEAFVILLE brand, so stay tuned for more exciting events.
